What We Do

POCPN is a collaboration of people of color staff and members rooted in the Seattle/NW philanthropic community.

Our organizational members include the Latino Community Fund, Social Justice Fund NW, Potlatch Fund, Black Philanthropy Trust, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy–Puget Sound Chapter and the Grantmakers of Color Affinity Group of Philanthropy Northwest.

POCPN was established to:

  • Enhance and expand existing programs to improve access for communities of color to philanthropic resources;
  • Develop emerging leaders, volunteers, and donors of color in the field of philanthropy;
  • Educate individuals and institutions on issues of race ans social justice in philanthropy to build equitable giving practices for communities of color;
  • Strengthen the support network of people of color working in the field of philanthropy; and
  • Act as a bridge to create greater accountability between funders and communities of color.
